Gentle Sleep Support
Responsive, attachment-based sleep consultation and coaching based in Saratoga Springs, New York.
About Gentle, Holistic Sleep Coaching
Based in Saratoga Springs and offering consultations in the Capital Region and virtually, we specialize in evidence-based sleep strategies that honor both your child’s development and your parenting values. Rooted in attachment parenting and gentle, responsive care, our approach prioritizes your infant or toddler’s emotional needs, respects their natural rhythms, and offers realistic, compassionate support, without relying on harsh or stressful methods.
Wherever You’re Starting, You’re Welcome Here
Wherever you’re at in your sleep journey – co-sleeping intentionally or accidentally, struggling through sleep training attempts like Ferber or cry-it-out, or simply feeling unsure what to try next – we get it.
We've been there too: trying everything, second-guessing ourselves, doing what felt right in one moment and wondering if we’d made a mistake the next. Sleep struggles are hard enough without the weight of guilt or judgment.
Our coaching is rooted in empathy, flexibility, and real-life parenting, not perfection. We meet you exactly where you are, with curiosity, not criticism.
We’re here to help you move forward, with tools, not judgment, and support in creating a plan that brings about true change and feels good to you and your family.
About Our Gentle Sleep Approach
Our gentle approach:
Uses soothing, compassionate transitions
Builds trust and emotional connection
Reduces parental guilt by rejecting “sleep training” in favor of responsive support
You don’t have to choose between your child’s well-being and getting rest. You can have both, without tears. You deserve better sleep too, and you’ll feel good about choosing a gentle, loving method that is effective while still aligned with your intuition.
How it Works
We offer gentle, personalized sleep support that meets your child where they are developmentally and honors your values. Here’s how it works:
Intake + sleep log – You’ll fill out a detailed form and log sleep and related patterns 5-7 days, so we can understand where you’re starting.
1:1 sleep education – We’ll share evidence-based information about what to expect at your child’s age in terms of sleep and nap schedules, regressions, and more.
Personalized sleep plan – We create a plan that fits your child’s age, temperament, and your parenting style.
Coaching + support – We’ll work together to make changes step by step, with ongoing support from me throughout.
Better sleep, gently – You’ll build skills and confidence while helping your little one sleep more peacefully, at their own pace.
“Jackie and Katie with Root & Blossom were really helpful when we were struggling with sleep. They gave us a plan that made sense and felt gentle, and things started to improve pretty quickly. It was such a relief to have support from someone who really understood what we were going through, and who offered compassion support, plus accountability and patience.”

Our Sleep Story
Like so many parents, we didn’t come to sleep coaching because sleep was easy for our children… we came because it was hard.
Both of us – Katie and Jackie – experienced the exhaustion, uncertainty, and emotional overwhelm of disrupted sleep in early parenthood. We each found ourselves navigating long nights, inconsistent naps, and the emotional tug-of-war between wanting to be fully present for our babies and desperately needing rest ourselves.
What changed so much was discovering gentle, responsive sleep coaching, and working with coaches who honored our instincts, our babies’ needs, and our desire to parent with connection.
Already working in adjacent fields – childbirth education, postpartum support, infant care – we felt called to offer the same transformational support to others.
Now, as gentle sleep coaches, we guide families through this tender and transformative work with compassion, clarity, and connection. We know what it’s like to be in your shoes, because we’ve been there. And we’re here to walk beside you.
When you work with us, you benefit from the combined perspective of two certified sleep coaches, each bringing not only professional expertise in sleep consultation, but also deep experience in postpartum recovery, infant care, and motherhood.
Together, we’ve supported families from pregnancy through early childhood, and we’ve personally implemented the same gentle sleep strategies in our own homes.
Gentle Sleep Coaching FAQs
-
We support families with children from birth through 5 years old. While we do not sleep train, coach, or consult before 4 months, we can support you from day one in developing gentle rhythms, responsive routines, and sleep-positive habits that lay the foundation for healthy sleep.
From 4 months onward, we tailor strategies to fit your child’s developmental stage – whether you’re navigating nap transitions, night wakings, regressions, or toddler sleep boundaries – always with a responsive and respectful approach.
-
That depends on your child’s age, sleep habits, and the type of support you choose. Many families notice small improvements within a few days, with more lasting change over 1–2 weeks. Our goal is to support sustainable progress, not quick fixes.
-
It can be, though we never use methods that leave your child in prolonged distress. We follow a developmentally attuned, attachment-based model where you remain present and responsive. Instead of leaving your child to cry alone, we use comforting presence and gradual withdrawal, allowing your child to practice self-soothing, while keeping their (and your) stress and cortisol levels low .
In short: tears may happen, but your child never faces them alone: you are empowered, informed, and emotionally available throughout.
-
All packages include education that helps you understand what’s developmentally normal and realistic for your baby or toddler’s age. When you know what to expect, it’s easier to make informed choices, feel more confident, and stop second-guessing yourself. We’ll guide you through what’s typical for your child’s stage. and how to support sleep in a way that aligns with their natural rhythms.
